Doesn't Sunshine come out on the 20th?
So is there a chance we'll see the trailer tonight?

Wouldn't we have heard something about this?

*crosses fingers*

Apparently, the trailer features two songs by The Kinks, This Time Tomorrow, & Strangers.

EDIT: I posted it immediately before I watched it myself. Just watched it. Very, very excited!

One question: I don't know if I've ever seen a director's production company's name used like that in any advertising for a film. "An AMERICAN EMPIRICAL Picture by WES ANDERSON." I mean, he's produced one other movie, besides the ones he's directed, under that banner (Squid). Why is he using it in this way? Is Wes planning on producing more through AE and wants to get the name out there?

Oh, and I love the mystery of Anjelica's character. What a tease.

The American Emperial thing threw me too. Maybe he's doing it as an homage to people like Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger who billed themselves under their production company name "The Archers." Or perhaps he is trying to make a brand of it. I'm glad it's online, even if I can't watch embedded quicktime. :???:

Edit
I got it to play and noticed some futura on the side of the train. Also I forgot, Irfan Khan in is this! If Wes didn't find a minor role for either of the Pallanah's in this one, he wasn't even trying.

that's awesome. it looks beautiful. but i'm afraid he's getting a bit repetitive in terms of dialogue. not that he used it exactly like that before but very similiar, i guess. anyway, it's him, i'm a sucker for that, otherwise he probably wouldn't be my favorite director so i'll go with it. i think wes anderson has reached a point in his career where you immediately recognize his style, his films, he has his own distinctive style and i hate all this pseudo-indie-thumbsucker-dynamite-crap trying to imitate that.

Here's a direct link to the trailer for those who want to play it full screen (in a program like vlc media player, etc.)

Does anyone else feel like this is going to be a good one? TLA had its moments, but this one looks like a real winner.

I like that it's back to the 3 guys bonding while on a mission setup that worked so well in Bottle Rocket. Part of what killed TLA was the huge ensemble cast. Also, Owen's character seems a lot more like Dignan than other character he's played since.
